Economist’s 2019 prediction: We’re vindicated – Atiku

ABUJA – The Atiku Presidential Campaign Organization, APCO, has described the victory prediction for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 elections by the Economist Magazine as a vindication of its stand that Information Minister, Lai Mohammed, deliberately twisted the narrative with his recent claim that some foreign media were not favourably disposed to Atiku’s candidature.

The international magazine recently predicted victory for Atiku saying his pledge to curtail joblessness and revive the economy gives him an edge over President Buhari with a few months to the elections.

In a statement issued Friday in Abuja, the campaign organization said “As the Economist rightly states, the issues in 2019 are popular frustration over the rise in joblessness and poverty (two of the biggest voter concerns) on Mr. Buhari’s watch, as well as growing insecurity in central Nigeria.  “No other candidate has the capacity to address these challenges, like Atiku under whose watch as Chairman of the National Council on Privatisation, Nigeria had her highest growth in job numbers.

“Atiku, is poised to translate the significant success he has made in his private business empire to the public sector. This anticipation is responsible for the momentum he now enjoys in all the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria.”  APCO also noted that “For the past one year, Abubakar has traversed the length and breadth of Nigeria, selling his plans, vision and policies to Nigerians. Unfortunately, rather than do the same, the All Progressive Congress, APC, has focused on negative campaigning by slandering Abubakar’s past.

“We are not surprised by their actions. When a man’s future intimidates people, they focus on lying about his past because they cannot compete in the present. However, we thank The Economist for proving that no matter how far and fast falsehood has traveled, it must eventually be overtaken by truth.  “For now, we remind Nigerians that Atiku means JOBS. And by providing the atmosphere for Jobs, Opportunity, Being United, JOBS, Atiku is ready to “Get Nigeria Working Again.”

The IMF and Buenos Aires concurred in June on a three-year, $50 billion safeguard loaning program however Argentina has since requested a more quick payment. The IMF mission has held meetings with the economic team and central bank in Buenos Aires over the past week and “important progress is being made toward strengthening Argentina’s economic policy plan, supported by a Stand-By Arrangement with the IMF,” the statement said. “We are working hard to conclude these staff-level talks in short order and present a proposal to the IMF Executive Board.” Buenos Aires has received $15 billion so...

Naked Attraction gets brutal when contestant awkwardly only compliments rival on 'nice skin'

Yes, it's the weirdest show on telly. But things got even weirder when two rivals had to compliment each other...   Naked Attraction viewers were laughing even more than usual when one contestant could only offer the compliment “nice skin” to a rival.  In a recent episode of the show - in which would-be lovers pick out a partner based only on their naked genitalia - a contestant called Melissa made it to the final with another woman called Jordan, and potential partner Charles had to pick one of them to go on a date with.  They were both asked to compliment each other. Jordan said: “She’s got amazing teeth and blue eyes”.  But Melissa paused for a while, and could only muster: “"She's got... really nice skin..." Charles then told the pair his final choice: "This is right hard. It's going to have to be Jordan."  When Melissa left the show, she quipped: "It's been a nice experience but if I went on a date with Charles all I would have in...
