How To Care for Virgin Hair Part 1

Although our virgin hair products allow you to blow dry, curl with curling iron, straighten with flat iron, dye with hair dye and style it as you would your own hair, there are some important care considerations you need to keep in mind about how to care for virgin hair if you want it to look great for longer.

In order to keep your virgin hair  tangle free, shiny and soft, you will need to nourish it with appropriate hair products. We recommend Dove Intensive Repair conditioner, One ‘n Only Argan Oil moisture repair conditioner and oil treatment, Miracle 7 leave-in conditioner and Suave clarifying shampoo. Above all, you will want to avoid using alcohol-based products, as these can damage your hair extensions.

Here are a few other care recommendations about how to care for virgin hair:

1.Do not sew through the weft.
Remind your stylist to be careful not to sew through the weft of your virgin hair extensions.  Ensuring that your hair extensions are treated well when they’re being fitted is how to care for virgin hair from the start.

2.Avoid high temperatures.
Heating your hair to high temperatures can damage it and decrease the amount of time it will last.

3.Never sleep with wet hair.
In order to minimize the risk of tangling your hair, make sure it is dry before you go to bed. You can pin curl or plait your hair to help keep it tangle free.

4.Wash your hair carefully
The best way to keep your virgin hair looking good, is to wash carefully in a downward motion, substituting conditioner for shampoo. Rinse your hair well and then style it.

5.Gently brush or comb your hair from the bottom up
Comb your hair upwards from the bottom in small sections at a time. Careful brushing or combing will help keep it free from tangles.

Jordan said: “She’s got amazing teeth and blue eyes”.  But Melissa paused for a while, and could only muster: “"She's got... really nice skin..."
